Female Wings

Wings to shelter
  soft beginning buds
Umbrella feathers deflecting
  burning rays of day
Heavy mist of night

Wings to journey
  soaring high gazing down
Absorbing the wider view
  zooming low closing in
Jagged peaks sunken valleys mirrored lakes

Wings to weave
  tapestry against the sky
Brushing colors yellows
  reds greens and browns
Flowing across canvas white and blue

Wings to maneuver
  dancing with the wind
Turning through the
  filtered fractured rays
Home of dusk that brings the dawn
