Welcome to GreyLight Internet and Multimedia!
Privacy Statement

In an increasingly computer driven world, the concern about individual privacy has grown. You, the viewer, may be wondering what we, the content providers, know about you. This page is your chance to find out!

What We Know

We know more about you than you probably think we know. And as scary as that may seem, we know less than most companies. Where do we get all this information? You are sending it to us with your web browser as part of a standard Internet session. To illustrate this point, here are the things we record:

  • The numeric IP address of the machine making the document request. (In your case: )
  • The document you were looking for. (This page, which of course is )
  • The time the document was requested. (Local time is currently: )
  • What browser you are using to make the page request. (Are you STILL using ? Whew!)
  • And also the page you were just at before coming to this one, assuming you followed a link. (And did you enjoy your visit to ">?)
  • On some of our external satellite sites, we use web bugs to collect the information above while a viewer is seeing our work outside this domain.
  • We also occasionally use cookies to track certain variables while you are inside the site. Mostly this is only done on the occasional game.

Your computer is most likely sending even more information than that, but the above items are all we keep track of.

Just Why Do We Want To Know Anyway?

For the most part, we use the information to see what on the site is more popular. It tells us in general terms how many hits a page gets, how much browsing the average user is doing on the site, what browser they are using, who is linking to us, and roughly where people are. It is essentially the internet version of seeing what the people who wander into your brick and mortar shop look like, and which racks of merchandise they head for.

The information is generally kept until someone glances through it for any major changes in viewing habits. Once it has been skimmed, it is usually deleted, never to be seen again. Once in a while we save overall statistics to file, as a snapshot of activity. These snapshots give us an idea of how we are doing from year to year.

This information is never given out to anyone else, with the sole exception of law enforcement if needed. We most often do not keep form data either, and what we do track and keep is also solely for our own records. Your information is safe with us!

Information about you personally is hard to get. It is possible to do with the right software and equipment, but we have neither. The sole times when you as a person would be tracked is by the federal government in response to blatantly illegal activity. Since you are already in a world of trouble if that happens, the internet should be the least of your worries!

A final note about email: We do not track in any way email addresses, except for what is voluntarily posted by you. For those of you who send us direct email, we keep the address just long enough to finish the conversation.

Final Word

If at any time we need to modify the way we handle your information, we will include the changes here. We will also notify you on our main page that the privacy statement has been modified. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to send them to: webmaster@greylight.com
